Image I took while teaching at New England Institute of Professional Photography in April. Nasty day, 40 mph winds, we still produce great images! |
Having fun with one of my models! one of us looks pretty good here! |

I was a print judge and speaker at the Maine conference in February so I took the opportunity to photograph my friend Will with a Sigma 85mm f/1.4 lens I'm testing for Shutterbug magazine. |
Me and my fellow judges. |

November 21st, 2010 -------------------------------------------------------------------- After Dark New Orleans |
Here's 1 from a model I worked with as an instrutor at a photo event called 'After Dark' because we go until past midnight! 35 'mentors' (instructors) and 300 students going from 9:30 am to past midnight for 2.5 days. A blast! |
One of my smaller models during my session on window light portraits. She is a beauty! |
Another from my natural light portrait shoot. |

Photo of Beth Paey. I did Beth's senior photos a couple of years ago and asked her to model for a natural light workshop at my studio. She did great, here's one of the images from it. |
Another from the workshop. Natural light would seem to be easy because it's always there but it's one of the most difficult things for photographers to learn how to see and use it. |

I've had a busy winter teaching classes and winning awards! I was an instructor at the Bahamas International School of Photography and also at the Professional Photographers of New York/New Jersey annual conference and I'm scheduled to teach a lighting class this month at the Colorado Imaging Workshops. I was named the New Hampshire Photographer of the Year by the New Hampshire Professional Photographers Association for the eighth time, an honor no other New Hampshire photographer has won more than twice. And at the recent Professional Photographers of New England print competition, of the 53 photographers that entered, my print case was one of only three that had all four images score blue ribbons and I had the highest scoring print case among them. I was also awarded two Judges Choice Awards and the Fuji Masterpiece Award in Portraiture. I usually post my portrait work here but this is one of my art pieces called 'Floral Ballet', I hope you enjoy it! It scored a 94 in New England, a very high score. |
